Modern computer user interface design generally eschews modes. Nevertheless, modes are rife in physical devices, especially small ones with a scarcity of inputs and outputs. Such is the case with my austerity-plan anthrolume, and I was forced to make a modal interface. But I did a few things to make the modal UI less objectionable, which are demonstrated in this video.

What do you mean by “the inside of the Wearable Keypad?” If you mean what’s in side the keypad itself – there’s a round circuitboard in there, but I’ve never seen it because it’s entirely sealed inside a silicone skin. The keypad itself is this product from Sparkfun. It worked great for me, and I”m going to use it for Anthrolume 2.0 as well.
